Mouth-Watering, Finger-Licking Food

When so many reviewers claim a restaurant to be one of the best in the country, it’s definitely worth checking out. Prohibition Pig is known to serve a wide variety of fresh southern barbeque foods, all cooked in-house.

According to their website, their sit-down restaurant features “Southern BBQ done Vermont style,” which definitely sounds like something you don’t want to miss if you want to really experience the state of Vermont and all that it has to offer.

Prohibition Pig serves fresh whole hog BBQ every night, and from Friday to Sunday, they are open for lunch as well. And if you happen to not eat meat, don’t worry! The place has vegetarian food options as well, so you don’t have to stay home when all your friends are out enjoying.

When it comes to BBQ, Vermont may not be the first place that comes to mind, but Prohibition Pig knows what they are doing, and they nail it. You can’t go here just once – you’ll definitely find yourself coming back for more.

Wide Selection of Craft Beers on Tap

Prohibition Pig has a total of 22 taps, including both house drafts and guest drafts. They also offer wine on tap, apart from their wide range of classic cocktails. This makes them one of New England’s largest curated selection of craft beer, cocktails, and eclectic wines.

These 22 taps serve both the restaurant and the brewery, and patrons of Prohibition Pig are known to particularly enjoy the Pony Soldier (New England IPA), Amelia (Blond Ale), Darkwing Dunk (German-Style Dark Lager), and Vanilla Bean Porter (Porter aged on vanilla beans). All of these beers are house drafts.

There are also plenty of guest drafts, including Citizen “Dirty Mayor” (Hard Cider with ginger), Zero Gravity “Audrey Two” (Sour Ale), Hill Farmstead “Edward” (American Pale Ale), and Eden Specialty Cider “House Blend” (Semi-dry hard cider specialty blend).

They also have plenty of non-alcoholic beverages, including lemonade, iced tea, hot tea, soft drinks, and more.

Merch and e-Gift Cards for your Friends and Family

Prohibition Pig is very good at branding themselves, and one of their methods include selling their own merch, including t-shirts, tote bags, recycled shopping bags, dog leashes and collars, frisbees, and drinkware that carry their logo.

They even have bottled sauces that they make in-house for guests to buy if you want to take some of that BBQ deliciousness home.

Prohibition Pig also has e-Gift cards, which work like normal gift cards for the restaurant and brewery, only they can be sent via text and email to the recipient. So if someone’s birthday or anniversary is coming up or you simply want to make someone’s day, buying them this gift card is easily one of the best gifts you can give. They have gift cards worth $25, $50, $75 and $100. This is easily a simple and thoughtful way to make sure someone you care about has a great day!

No Reservations

Prohibition Pig does not take any reservations. The place is always packed during weekdays and weekends since it is quite popular in the area. Not being able to book tables in advance means that, for the dining area, which is the restaurant, the tables are hosted on a first-come, first-served basis.

And for the bar and high tops, it’s survival of the fittest, since it is almost always filled up. If you want to really enjoy the food and drinks here and have a good time, make sure that you come in early so that you get a table. Especially if you are coming in a large group, make sure you aren’t too late so that you can have the best seats in the house.

During weekends, the wait is usually about half an hour to an hour, with people from the area and even out of state coming together to enjoy the foods and drinks that Prohibition Pig has to offer. Visit their official website for more information.
