Valley Brewing Co. in Yakima, Washington was co-founded by three best friends who shared a mutual passion for brewing and beer. They started homebrewing and coming up with their own recipes for craft brews first, and then after months and months of bettering their brews and figuring out the necessary legalities, they opened up Valley Brewing Co. in 2017. Founders Ethan Frenzel, Korey Shroyer, and Joe Daily, are all Yakima Valley natives with a history of business administration and fruit packing between them, which serves the brewery well.

Before Valley Brewing Co. opened its taproom, the beer brewed by the brewing enterprise was sold at several Yakima facilities, such as Mickey’s Pub and Yakima Steak Co. You could have also sampled their beer if you happened to be in the Washington area attending beer festivals, such as the Fresh Hop Ale Festival. 

Taproom Features

The Valley Brewing Co., Yakima taproom is spacious and comfortable. The interiors of the taproom open up to an expansive covered area with large-screen TVs to keep visitors entertained. Seating is provided by means of picnic tables. There is a yard with game areas for throwing darts and corn holes. Valley Brewing Co. also organizes live music events on the weekends and provides a designated stage area for the bands. 

While food is not made available at the brewery, food trucks are allowed to park on the premises to cater to hungry customers. Valley Brewing Co. is kid and dog-friendly, so you can carry both your child and pawsome friend with you when you visit. Ample parking space is provided, so finding a spot to park your vehicle will never be a problem when visiting this brewpub. Individuals not particularly fond of beer accompanying their beer enthusiast friends can choose from their offering of cider and sodas.

Valley Brewing Co. offers customers with in-house brews on tap on a rotational basis. If you’d like to pick up their brews in packaged form, you can pick up their range of canned beer. 

You will find the following beer on tap here, currently:

• Juice Got Loose – 5.75% ABV Hazy IPA with an abundance of Simcoe, Citra, Galaxy, and Mosaic hops.
• Slow Motion Potion – 7% ABV Hazy IPA with Mosaic and Citra hops.
• Dirty Roots IPA – 6% ABV West Coast-style IPA brewed using Yakima Valley hops and grain that provides pine and citrus flavor and aroma notes.
• Blonde Bite – 5.25% ABV blonde beer brewed using wheat and pilsen using real lemon additions.
• Citra Ass Down (Twisted Citrus) – 7% ABV Grapefruit Citrus IPA brewed using Chinook hops and fresh citrus.
• Dirty Galaxy IPA – 6.3% ABV IPA fashioned after Valley’s Dirty Roots i.e. its flagship brew, hopped with Galaxy.
• Octane 87 IIPA – 7.95% Imperial IPA, brewed in signature Dirty Roots fashion but packs double the punch.

You can pick up cans of the following Valley Brewing special beers from the premises:

• Too Much Juice Hazy IPA – 7% ABV 
• Juicy Roots Sour IPA – 6% ABV
• Neon Icon – 7.5% ABV DDH Hazy IPA brewed using Citra and Strata hops
• Fruituristic – 7% ABV series of Fruited IPAs, brewed using different fruit for every batch. Valley’s 2019 January Fruituristic release contains vanilla beans, blueberry puree, milk sugar, and Mosaic hops.
• Space Bound – 7.3% ABV Wheat Pilsner hopped with Sabro.
• Mystical Forest – 7.3% ABV Valley special brew, the brewery’s first can release.

Upcoming Release:

• Futuristic Pink Guava – Brewed using pink guava puree, Madagascar vanilla beans, and white sugar and hopped with Mosaic, Citra, Motueka, and El Dorado. 

What Customers Say

Valley Brewing Co. is a relatively new brewery in the Yakima area, but it has already gained its own share of acclaim. Customers who’ve visited the brewery have touted it to be one of the best craft breweries for IPAs in all of Yakima. The Blonde Bite and Juice Got Loose IPA deserve special mentions here.

The brewery serves a limited number of beers on a rotational basis, focusing more on IPAs. If you’re unsure about which beer to pick, you can order their four beer flight taster. It contains a cider, stout, amber, and blonde. 

Plenty of seating space is made available for customers, so you need not despair if you can’t secure a spot inside the taproom. The outside area is cozy, with fire pits here and there and the food trucks parked nearby. 

Valley Brewing Co. also provides customers with guest taps, so they can try out beer offerings from neighboring breweries without ever leaving its premises. Besides the IPAs, the stouts and ciders made available by Valley are equally worth a try. 

The staff managing the brewery is cheerful and accommodating. You can always reach out to them for any questions you may have. They are up for a friendly conversation anytime too, when the place is not too busy.
